Missouri

The land turned flat west of the river.  Then I turned west into the Ozarks.  I spent Monday night in Ironton in a motel on a mountain stream with a barbeque restaurant out front.  Very mountainous, narrow roads until I got near Jefferson City.  Near MS River, MO.jpg (425856 bytes)

I was in to Independence on Tuesday by about 5 and stopped for the night.  I spent the next morning at the Truman Library and Museum.  That was a really interesting place.  He was a really simple and direct person, so unlike the politicians we have these days.  The museum had lot of the letters that he wrote to his wife, Bess, telling her about all the things that he did during the day.

I could have spent more time there, but I had to be in Wamego, KS, that afternoon.
