Oklahoma

I came out of the New Mexico into the panhandle of Oklahoma,  missing Texas by a couple of hundred yards.  The snowfall was starting to pick up.        OK_line.jpg (37618 bytes)
OK snow.jpg (233696 bytes) Pretty soon, I was back in 4-wheel drive, trying to keep up with a Texan ahead of me who seemed to know what he was doing.  The engine kept sputtering.

It was Saturday afternoon, the day before Easter.  Not a sign of a repair shop anywhere in sight.

By the time I got to Guymon, the snow had ended,  and I stopped for lunch and a fresh tank of gas.  The new gas cured the engine.  I guess they had put hot sauce in the fill-up I got in Taos.  I stayed Saturday night in Woodard.  On Easter Sunday I stopped off in Anadarko to
SEE INDIAN CITY!! then on to Norman to stay with Bob and Claudia..  On Monday, Bob drove me down to see Geronimo's grave  near Lawton.  Tuesday I headed east.
