Tennessee and Kentucky

 

I continued on I-24 up to the top of the mountain at Monteagle.   Then I turned left and stayed off Interstates until Denver. 

In Sewanee, I drove through the University of the South.  

 

After that, the road descends from the Cumberland Plateau and becomes like a roller  coaster, over the ridges approaching the Mississippi River.

I spent Sunday night in Hohenwald, then cut across the western tip of Kentucky to cross the Mississippi on a ferry at Hickman.  It had an RC soda machine on board.
