My friend Nancy has been having Soup Bowls in Washington for many years.  A bunch of people get together and bring soup and sit and slurp and celebrate.
Pat Solley was there, who had just published her cookbook, A Celebration of Soups.   Click on the cover to learn more about her and soups.
The Soup Bowl wasn't until Sunday, so I  went  up a couple of days early and caught the Amtrak to New York for the last weekend of the Christo Gates in Central Park.  I stayed with my friends Ira and Marilyn, and we walked over to the park on Saturday morning.  It was cold and crowded and wonderful.
